Nekpen Obasogie's New TV Show In Nigeria: NEBO TV

I am in motherland working with my people in Edo state. As we all know, charity begins at home. We recently made some changes to AWE Talk Show. We changed the name to NEBO TV.  For more clarification, NEBO is the abbreviation of my names. The new changes will give preference to people to broadcast their shows under NEBO TV. We are currently recruiting presenters in Nigeria who will be broadcasting and representing NEBO TV in the country. I don't have to travel to Nigeria to cover shows and other programs. Anyway, I'm currently working on the history of colonial (British people and the Portuguese) relationship with the Great Benin kingdom and  Oba Ewuare I and II. What a great history! The legacy and proclamations of Oba Ewuare Ogidigan I who ruled the Great Benin kingdom during the 1400 century. The present Oba of Benin is believed to be the reincarnation of  Oba Ewuare I. A must watch history documentary. By Nekpen Obasogie  High Priest Osemwegie Eboho...

Female Fashion is Rooted in Patriarchal Structure of Society

Posing in front of my church building. It was, indeed, a fulfilling Sunday.  l wanted to wear my Ankara attire this morning. Unfortunately, the zip got destroyed immediately I stepped out of my apartment. It took me another one hour to put this fashion together. Anyway, that is one of the characteristics of modern women. We should be conscious of the fact that women's fashion is rooted in patriarchal structure of  society. According to Micheal H Hellet, "for the past 6,000-odd years what women could and could not wear was entirely-and often punitively-dictated by the patriarchal cultures they lived in".  As a result, women are subjected to confirm to this fashion expectation.

President Buhari and Atiku: Killer Herdsmen Are Not Nigerian Fulanis

The question of whether or not killer Herdsmen are Nigerians   is still an open question! Some politicians claimed that killer Herdsmen are not real Fulani Herdsmen. For instance, governor Nasir El Rufai argues that killer Herdsmen are non-Nigerian Fulanis and that they are from Niger, Mali, Chad and other neighbouring countries. The former vice-president of federal republic of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar also said that they are not Fulani at all, whether local or foreign. The issue of killer Herdsmen has become a complex problem in Nigeria, due to the weak security operation in the country.  During president Buhari’s visit to Plateau State (following the attack on some villages that led to the death of almost 100 innocent Nigerians) he said that, “the farmer knows that the Nigerian cattle herder that he knows doesn’t carry nothing more than a stick. The herder carries something to cut grass to feed his cattle. But the present herder, I am told, carr...

The Colony Of Cattles: Killer Fulani Herdsmen Are Grabbing Lands In Nigeria (Almost 100 Persons Killed in Plateau State)

Killer Herdsmen in Nigeria Fulani Herdsmen Mass killings of Innocent Nigerians by Fulani Herdsmen         Almost, 100 Nigerians were confirmed killed by suspected Herdsmen during the attack on Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area Plateau State on June 25th, 2018. Six people were also injured while at least 50 houses, 12 vehicles, and 15 motorcycles were burned. Some traditional rulers have been killed and 3 others fled their various villages for safety (two traditional rulers had to escape from their palaces). Apparently, the traditional institution and churches are reducing in the area due to these attacks ( Christian population  and churches are mainly targeted).  This is not the first time of experiencing such attacks in Nigeria. For the past 10 years, hundreds of innocent Nigerians have been killed by these ruthless Herdsmen in the country. Villages have been overturned and the people displaced. People have been ma...

Nekpen Obasogie in Elegant Dresses

According to Edith Head, "you can have anything you want in life if you dress for it." I believe that fashion can help to boost women's confidence and self-esteem. That was the main reason I created African Women of Elegance (AWE) group page on Facebook to shine light on the beauty of African women.
