The Colony Of Cattles: Killer Fulani Herdsmen Are Grabbing Lands In Nigeria (Almost 100 Persons Killed in Plateau State)

Killer Herdsmen in Nigeria

Fulani Herdsmen
Mass killings of Innocent Nigerians by Fulani Herdsmen

Almost, 100 Nigerians were confirmed killed by suspected Herdsmen during the attack on Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area Plateau State on June 25th, 2018. Six people were also injured while at least 50 houses, 12 vehicles, and 15 motorcycles were burned. Some traditional rulers have been killed and 3 others fled their various villages for safety (two traditional rulers had to escape from their palaces). Apparently, the traditional institution and churches are reducing in the area due to these attacks (Christian population and churches are mainly targeted). This is not the first time of experiencing such attacks in Nigeria. For the past 10 years, hundreds of innocent Nigerians have been killed by these ruthless Herdsmen in the country. Villages have been overturned and the people displaced. People have been massively killed and the lands occupied by killer Herdsmen. On March 1, 2015, suspected Fulani Herdsmen carrying firearms attacked Egba village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, killing over 90 persons, including women and children. These Fulani Herdsmen gained access into the community from Loko in neighbouring Nasarawa State, and started shooting and breaking into people’s houses, attacking whoever they met, including women and children.
According to Channel news report,
"Over four villages have been added to the 45 that have already been overturned and are under forceful occupation. It is simply a game to ensure that a cattle colony carved and the land is grabbed for grazing. This is the reason behind the killings that we are witnessing in this constituency. It is harrowing that over 200 will be killed in cold blood". These attacks were motivated by land grabbing
The question is whether or not there are security agencies in Nigeria? If these Herdsmen are conquering and occupying villages successfully without the confrontation of Nigerian police and other security agents. Who are we to blame for the frequent killings of innocent Nigerians?
