The event was organized by two prominent
Edo women in Toronto (Nekpen Obasogie & Isoken Ibie) who believe that
togetherness is very pivotal to economic and self development in diaspora and our
homelands. Mark Shields once said that, “There is always strength in
numbers. The more individuals or organizations that you can rally to your
cause, the better.” The Association of Edo Women in Canada truly encapsulate
the strength in numbers.
History
Edo women in canada consist of four ethnic
groups, Bini, Esan, Owan and Etsako. Regardless of the ethnic diversity
in Edo state, history tells us that many Edo people have a strong ancestral
connection. They believe that this connection should be recognized and
maintained no matter where we are in the world.
Objectives
The Association of Edo Women in Canada aim to
harness the oneness and unity of all Edo women across Canada. Their programs
