In 1961, Queen Elizabeth II made history by dancing with Ghana’s President Kwame Nkrumah at a farewell ball in Accra during her tour in Africa—a powerful symbol of unity in the Commonwealth at that time.  

The Republican Party won the election in the entire four levels - President, Senate, House and Governor! It was a big win for the Republican Party. Donald Trump won both the popular votes and electoral college votes. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the popular votes but lost the election to Donald Trump on the electoral college votes. In comparison, Kamala Harris lost both the popular and electoral college votes to Donald Trump. The Democrats have some serious work to do!  

  Nigerian Canadian Multicultural Centre (NCMC) organized a Meet & Greet event for our upcoming women's cultural program at Brampton City Hall on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The new program was re-titled  "African Canadian Women's Cultural Program."  The concept of the program is driven by our enthusiasm to showcase and explore the colorful African cultural heritage in Canada. Youth cultural program at the 2024 Edo Language Day event at University of Toronto on Augu 10th, 2024. They participated in cultural dance and fashion show. There were beautiful rendition of music and dancing during their fashion show!

Lady Nekpen Obasogie's cultural birthday party in Toronto on August 9th & 10th, 2024. Her 50th birthday was celebrated simultaneously in Canada and Edo State on both days. The birthday showcases the colorful and cultural splendor of the Benin/Edo people. The elders in her group dedicated a special song of commendation (encomium) to her!
